Kermit Dale Burdette, 82, of Alderson passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at Peyton Hospice House. Born on Aug. 2, 1943, in Sandstone, WV, Kermit was the son of the late Ray Arnold Burdette and Ursley Delila O’Bryan Burdette.

Kermit dedicated many years of service as a bus driver for Summers County Schools, ensuring the safety and care of countless students throughout his career. He was known for his reliability, kindness, and commitment to the children and families of his community.

In addition to his parents, Kermit was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Bennett, and brother, Gary Burdette.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Eva Jane Canterbury Burdette. Kermit leaves behind his sons, Gregg Burdette (wife Diane), Scott Burdette, and K.D. Burdette (wife Ashleigh); daughter, Roberta Mann (husband Chris); brother, Ferrell Burdette (wife Margaret); grandchildren, Gina, Alex, Eva, Brody, Jessica, Tim and Steven, and great-grandchildren, Allen, Ava, Cole, Christopher, LoAmi and Addyson.

Kermit will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering dedication to his family, and the positive impact he made on those around him. His legacy lives on through the love and memories shared by his family and friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Peyton Hospice House for their compassionate care.

Details regarding a celebration of life service will be announced by the family at a later date. Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
