Mabel Falls Doggett, 94, of Alderson passed away peacefully at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea on Oct. 23, 2025, due to a short illness. She was born on June 13, 1931, in Greenbrier County to the late Nathan and Esther Falls.

Mabel was known for her “sparkling blue eyes and Fall’s smile, and her sharp sense of humor. She loved quilting, working with her hands, sewing, and crocheting. Mabel did not miss a West Virginia State Fair, even up until this past year. She had to have funnel cakes and blooming onions. Mabel had a passion for reading that she shared with her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and son Donald.

Mabel is survived by her daughter Betty; grandchildren Robbie, Brett, and Nikki (Matt); great-grandchildren Blaine, Brielle, Penny, Kandice; brother John; sister Linda, daughter-in-law Cindi Hollomon Falls; former son-in-law Dennis Redden; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, Mabel will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Alderson Funeral Services and Smathers Funeral Chapel is honored to have been entrusted to care for our friend Mabel and her family during their great time of need.
