The Old Tabernacle is located beside the Mount Vernon Church located between Fort Spring and Sinks Grove on Mt. Vernon Road.

The old rough sawn tabernacle at Mt. Vernon Church will be a revival site on Sept. 7, 8, and 9, 2025.

The Old Tabernacle was constructed during the depression of the 1930’s to provide seating for huge crowds during summer revival services. Each summer the tabernacle provided space for services until the mid 1950’s when services were discontinued. In the early 1980’s maintenance was performed and annual revival services were started again. A few years ago theft of the benches that were used as pews prevented the continued use of the structure. The acquisition of some used pews has enabled the Old Tabernacle to continue as a site for proclaiming God’s word.

This year’s revival will begin at 7 p.m. each night on Sept. 7, 8, and 9. The speaker on Sept. 7 will be Anthony Carter with Ben Hersman providing special music. Pastor Kathy Holland will speak on Sept. 8 with members of New Vision Baptist Church providing music. Tim McNair will also share music on Sept. 8. On Sept. 9 Pastor Joey Morgan will bring the message with Joey and Joe Howard providing special music.

Please join the congregation of Mt. Vernon Church in rededicating the Old Tabernacle for the service of God.
