Deborah Sue Carey, 68, of White Sulphur Springs passed away on Aug. 31, 2025, in Marietta, OH.
She was born Dec. 16, 1956, in White Sulphur Springs, the daughter of the late Harold Lloyd and Kathleen White Carey.
Debbie was a graduate of Greenbrier East High School and an active member of Bethesda Church in White Sulphur Springs. Debbie was an accountant with Liberty Tax Services in White Sulphur Springs. She loved to show hunter jumping horses and was an avid runner, participating in 5K, 10K and half marathons.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Ron Carey in 2021.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Don Carey and wife Paula of Midwest City, OK; niece Melanie Carey of Oklahoma, OK; nephews, Dale Carey and wife Jamie of Dale, OK, and Jeremy Carey and wife Joan of Waynesboro, VA; great-niece Caitlyn Carey of Claremont, OK; great-nephews, Bennett Carey and Jackson Jacobs both of Dale, OK; and closest friends Norma Feury and Brenda Hollandsworth both of White Sulphur Springs.
A celebration of life for Debbie will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Chad Dingess officiating.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wayne Bland Scholarship Fund, C/O Peggy Bland, 683 Big Draft Road, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.
