Amie Gertrude Jenkins, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Born Apr. 29, 1939, in Sarton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert David and Lorene Kyle Caldwell Weikle.  She was one of 12 brothers and sisters, growing up on a small farm. At the age of 13 she asked Christ to save her at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.  As a child of God, she was baptized in the Greenbrier River at Fort Spring. In 1958 Amie graduated from Greenville High School. She was proud of her life growing up. She would say that she could drive a tractor long before she learned to drive a car.

Moving to Browns Mills, NJ, she met her late husband, Richard Jenkins, and raised their sons, Jeffrey (Jeff) and Allan.

Amie spent most of her work life helping and working with the mentally disabled in New Lisben, NJ, and later in Lewisburg, WV, until her retirement. She showed love and respect to everyone she worked with that she helped. In the last years of her life, she became a member of Grace Bible Church in Asbury, WV. She loved to hear good preaching and gospel music.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Jenkins (Mary) of Lewisburg, WV, and Allan Jenkins of Maury, NC, grandchildren, Amanda Morris of Big Otter, WV, and Travis Jenkins of Moundsville, WV, great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Miranda, Jacob, Zane, Zoey and last but not least, Gunner, and three sisters, Arvada Johnson, Irene Romanello, and Lorene Shaw.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Calvin, Cleon, Armon, Hampton, Pearlie, Fern, Rosetta and Betty.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Mike Teubert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.

Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
