On July 27 at approximately 7:50 a.m., the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hines area of Greenbrier County regarding the discovery of a deceased female. Preliminary observations at the scene indicate the individual was struck by a vehicle during the early morning hours of the same date.
The victim has been identified as Miranda Gray, 24, of Charmco, West Virginia. Her family has been notified.
The Greenbrier County Crime Scene Unit also responded and processed the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Following the fatal pedestrian strike, the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the West Virginia State Police (WVSP), successfully located the suspect vehicle and driver. The vehicle was processed by the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Team.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its gratitude to the community for their assistance and cooperation.
