The flowering of the cross represents the transition from Good Friday to Easter – from meditation on Jesus’ death to the joyful celebration of his resurrection.
The Lewisburg United Methodist Church has constructed the Flowering Crosses for several years as one of the symbols of Easter.
LUMC would like to express its gratitude to Kroger for their contribution towards the purchase of the flowers for their sanctuary cross and the outdoor cross at the corner of Washington and Lee Streets.
The church hopes the public will enjoy the Flowering Crosses and remember the crosses as an emblem of Jesus’ resurrection and his continuing presence.
