Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Small Business Resource Roundup on Thursday, Apr. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rivertown Cafe in Marlinton. The open house style event is free and open to the public, offering entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members a chance to explore valuable business resources available in the Greenbrier Valley.

“Both the EDC and the Chamber are committed to supporting local businesses. We wanted to bring together businesses and the many resources available to them in one place,” said Ruthana Beezley, Executive Director of the Greenbrier Valley EDC. “We want to showcase our partners and the many resources available for businesses and entrepreneurs in Pocahontas County.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local, regional, and state resource partners including the Greenbrier Valley EDC, Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce, WV Small Business Development Center, Partner Community Capital, WV Hive Network, WV Women’s Business Center, Region 1 Workforce Development Board, WV Department of Agriculture, Woodlands Development & Lending, Jobs and Hope WV, and the WVSOM Center for Rural and Community Health.

Resource partners offer a variety of services for businesses looking to start or expand a business in our region including business planning and coaching, providing financing through loans or grants, training events, workforce programs, technical assistance funds, and more. Resource partners can still sign up to attend the event, by contacting the Greenbrier Valley EDC. Rivertown Cafe is located at 309 8th Street in Marlinton. Light refreshments will be offered; registration is not required but recommended.
