Xandria Maurer presents one of her paintings that will be displayed at the Capitol.

On Friday, Mar. 7, Snowshoe area artist Xandria Maurer personally delivered four of her paintings to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office, where they are now on loan. This opportunity arose after Secretary of State Kris Warner, impressed by her talent, approached Xandria after Governor Morrisey’s inauguration and invited her to contribute works that embody the natural beauty of Appalachia.

The four paintings – “On the Lake,” “Majestic Cascade Falls,” “Song of the Forest,” and “Morning Majesty” – are part of Maurer’s acclaimed “Into the Heart of Appalachia” series. Each piece captures the essence of this beautiful region, from its cascading waterfalls to its tranquil lakes and mist-covered mountains. More details on these paintings can be found on her website at https://awakenimagination.com.

Maurer, whose work has been exhibited at luxury resorts, private collections, and cultural events worldwide, is known for her ability to bring nature to life on canvas. Her paintings are deeply inspired by her time spent in the Amazon rainforest and the mountains of Norway during her childhood and formative years and now her deep connection to the Appalachian landscape.

Four of Maurer’s works will be on loan for display.
