David Franklin Cook, 51, of Renick, WV, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. Born on June 13, 1973, in Riverdale, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie Sanford Cook and Odessa Mae Terry Cook.
David served in the US Army for over 12 years, dedicating his life to his country with honor and distinction.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Phyllis Shelnutt, and sister-in-law, Reeca Eslinger.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Tonya Shelnutt Cook, daughters, Kelsey Cook, Taylor Sutphin (Brett), and Saige Stafford (Elijah), brother, Charles Cook, sisters, Terri Adams (Bill) and Diane Painter (Stephen), aunt, Betty Williams, and granddaughter, Georgia “Peachy” Treadway. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
