Everyone pictured is lending a hand with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration which will take place on Jan. 20. It will begin with a lively 11 a.m. march from the Greenbrier County Courthouse to the Lewisburg United Methodist Church for a free community lunch followed by a 12:30 p.m. program in the sanctuary. Before the march, Beverly White will read her Martin Luther King, Jr. Week proclamation to the people who gather at the courthouse. That will give them added inspiration for the whole event that day.
The proclamation ceremony with Mayor Beverly White and members of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration Committee was held earlier this month. Standing: Clifford Curry (left), Dawn Roberts, Larry Davis, Kelly Kemp, Wanda Johnson, and Jie Liu. Other members of the committee who could not attend were Cindy Arbaugh, Darren Campbell, Twana Jackson, Ann Jameson, Gibbs Kinderman, Barbara Lutz, Joe Lutz, Carl Perrin, and Kayla Reed.
