Sandy Matheney-Elder, 64, of Rainelle passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at her home.

She was born Mar. 7, 1960, in Gauley Bridge; the daughter of the late Roy Lee Matheney and Naomi Ruth Lesher Matheney.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Lee Roy Matheney.

Sandra was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rainelle. She was a former salesclerk and EMT. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was always a second mom to them. She never complained, she knew she was going to heaven. She liked to travel, going on a Caribbean Cruise in her later years and she also visited the Canyon Rim of the Grand Canyon. She took care of her mother and father during their last illnesses. She will be missed by all her family.

Survivors include two sisters Doris Vandall of Rainelle, Joyce Matheney of Ansted; brother, Jimmy Matheney of Rainelle; extended family and her dog, Sassy.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and no service.
