Roberta “Robbie” Shope, 58, of Caldwell formerly of Organ Cave passed away Saturday Nov. 16, 2024, at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 3, 1966, in Union, the daughter of Robert E. Shope, Sr. and the late Linda Sue Morgan Shope.

Robbie attended Highland Park Community Church. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association; she was a 4-H leader and loved doing crafts, crocheting and knitting in particular. Most of all Robbie loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter Miranda Shope (Jack Defibaugh) of Caldwell; grandchildren, Leona Simms and Robert O. Shope; father Robert “Bob” Shope of Organ Cave; sisters, Rebecca Hines (Randy) of Hines, WV and Regina Vance (Steve) of Second Creek, WV; brother Robert “Hoss” Shope, Jr. (Susan) of Broad Run, WV; nieces and nephews; Lori Cox (Josh), Scooter Brookman, Lynda Vance, Keene Vance and Chris Hines; and several aunts, uncles and other family members.

Memorial services for Robbie will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Freddie Bostic officiating.

The family will receive family and friends from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
