Pocahontas Trails is thrilled to host Freehub PRESENTS Film Festival; an evening dedicated to mountain biking and community. Pocahontas Trails is the local International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) chapter; members of the club focus their efforts on improving and promoting the trails in Pocahontas County, WV. Pocahontas Trails’ work with the community, landowners, and other organizations has led to the repairing of existing trails along with the design and building of new trails in our area.
The club will be hosting a showing of Freehub’s most recent compilation of films on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Rivertown Cafe in Marlinton, West Virginia. This event is a special opportunity to view a grouping of inspiring films that showcase trail development, community growth, and the joy of mountain biking. In addition to the movie showing, Pocahontas Trails will be recognizing the Cheat Mountain Salamanders seasonal accomplishments. The Cheat Mountain Salamanders NICA team competed hard this season; it is Pocahontas Trails honor to recognize every rider on the team. The event check-in/Social Time will be at 5 p.m. followed by awards for NICA participants and a quick mention of Pocahontas Trails recent milestones. The film will begin screening at 6:45 p.m. and is expected to run until 8:15 p.m. Rivertown Café will remain open until 7 p.m., be sure to show up early if you are interested in food and beverages for the event.
Each ticket purchase includes entry into a raffle with fantastic prizes from our event sponsors: Yeti Cycles, Camelback, Fat Tire, Maxxis Bike, and Leatt. Raffle items include hats, water bottles, apparel, a Freehub magazine subscription, goggles, and more. In addition, Pocahontas Trails will be selling their club jerseys at the event.
For those wanting to get an early start, Pocahontas Trails is organizing group rides for all skill levels at 1 p.m., departing from Rivertown Cafe. It is a perfect way to experience the scenic trails before settling in for the evening’s film festivities.
