Community Sing-along
Friday, Dec. 5 at 5:15 p.m. in the Green Space, downtown Lewisburg, in singing the Twelve Days of Christmas. In case of inclement weather, the sing-along will be held in the lobby of City National Bank.
White Sulphur Springs Christmas Parade
Main Street of White Sulphur Springs announces the 2014 Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 6. The parade lineup is at 4 p.m. on Ingleside Avenue with the parade commencing at 5 p.m. down Main Street. This year’s theme is “Let’s Light up the Village.” Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Spirit of the Parade, Best of Show in Floats, Best of Show in Walking Units, Holiday Spirit in Bands and Holiday Spirit in Vehicles. Christmas in the Park in Renick
The Town of Renick invites you and your family to Christmas In The Park on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. The community is invited to join us as we celebrate the holiday season sipping hot chocolate, munching on cookies, singing some Christmas carols and of course no event is complete without a visit from Santa himself. Ronceverte Christmas Dinner

Christmas Cantata at GV Nazarene
What is claimed as the Greenbrier Valley’s first cantata of the 2014 Christmas season will be presented Sunday, Dec. 7, in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene, Fairlea. “My Heart Longs for Christmas,” created by multiple Dove Award winner Tony Wood, along with songwriters Allie Lapointe and Nick Robertson, was arranged and orchestrated by well-known Christian music writer David T. Clydesdale. According to promotional information from the Lillenas Publishing Company, the musical is “a combination of traditional carols and remarkable songs – and the title song in particular [reminds us] that while all of the trimmings of Christmas are good, the deepest longing of our hearts is really for Jesus.” The Greenbrier Valley Nazarene Sanctuary Choir is using the musical’s multi-media soundtrack, including visuals, produced exclusively for the cantata by the publisher. Adult members of the choir include: Pat Leiter, Cathy Wolcott, Hazel Jackson, Glen Thaxton, Mildred Meadows, Tim Midkiff, George Gascon, Beverly Sams, Leonard Meadows, Cantini Parkinson, and director Jonathan Wright. Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene is located at Davis Stuart Road and Dawkins Drive, approximately one-half mile south of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea. The Rev. Glen Thaxton is pastor.
Winter Concert of Charleston Civic Chorus
The 63rd Concert Season begins Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Charleston Baptist Temple at 3 p.m. The concert, under the direction of Dr. J. Truman Dalton and accompanied by pianist/organist, Randall Peters, will feature an afternoon of seasonal music. The audience is invited to join the chorus members for a reception in the church parlor immediately following the concert. Mark your calendars for our Charleston Good Night concerts on New Year’s Eve at the Baptist Temple at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Trinity Methodist Church Christmas
Trinity Methodist Church in Ronceverte will hold its 4th annual Christmas Extravaganza Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to arts and crafts, baked goods, home made jams and salsas, white elephant items, Christmas decorations and cookie trays will be sold. A lunch of soup, sandwich, chips and a drink will be available for $6. Trinity is located at the corner of Pocahontas Avenue and Walnut Street and is a handicapped accessible building.
Pence Springs Community Church
will present its Annual Christmas play Sunday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. This year’s title is “Believe in the Miracles of Christmas.” Pastor Roger Persinger and the congregation invite everyone to attend.
