Members of the progressive CEOS met on Oct. 8, 2024, at the residence of Patty Gray. President Patty Gray welcomed members and quoted a poem “October Skies are Blue.”
Minutes of the September meeting were read by Secretary Betty Jo McNeel, and approved as read.
Treasurer’s report was given by Lynn Humphrey’s with a balance of $310.94.
Health Motivator tips were given by Patty Gray on Fall Prevention. She stated that 25% of elderly people fall each year. Head and hip injuries are the most common.
Greenbrier County CEOS Fall Leadership Day was on Sept. 17, with quest speaker, Amy Hubbard of WV Helping Hands. She gave a very interesting report on the vision and moving forward of program plans.
CEOS Planning Meeting will be held Oct. 24, at the Extension Office.
Fall Fun Day on Nov. 8, will be at the Rupert Community Building. Lynn Humphreys will present the meditation and Elsie Dunkle will lead the pledge. This will be a covered dish lunch and members are asked to bring canned food to be donated to Wellspring in Rupert.
Next meeting will be Nov. 12, at the Extension Office. Betty Jo McNeel will lead the members in the program, keeping the History Scrapbook.
All members present brought auction items to bid on. The amount of $60 was collected and monies will be donated to WV Helping Hands.
Patty Gray served refreshment to members Lynn Humphreys, Elsie Dunkle, Sally Holliday, Faye Honaker, Betty Jo McNeel, and Colleen Walton.
