With the final Courthouse Farmer’s Market of the season approaching on Saturday, Oct. 26, the Lewisburg Farmer’s Market is excited to announce the return of its Winter Market. Hosted by the Lewisburg Farmer’s Market committee, the Winter Market will be held every Saturday beginning on Nov. 2 and continuing until Dec. 21.
The market will take place at the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company inside the front building from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shoppers can expect remarkably fresh produce as well as fresh meats. In addition to delicious homegrown food, vendors will offer a wide variety of items, including crafts, skincare products, clay goods, primitive items, wreaths, woodworking, and much more. Many familiar faces from the Courthouse Farmer’s Market will also participate in the Winter Market, including Ben’s Salad Bowl, McMillions Microgreens, Blue Moon Bagels, and others. Food trucks will be on-site to satisfy brunchtime cravings.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Lewisburg Farmer’s Market will also host a Farm-to-Table “Friendsgiving” benefit lunch following the Winter Market. The lunch will run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and feature dishes from various market vendors, including grains, herbal products, microgreens, drinks, and more. Market Manager Jessica Levine expressed her hopes that vendors will share stories about their growing experiences during the lunch. Everyone is invited to enjoy this special meal in exchange for a donation.
Levine also mentioned that the Lewisburg Farmer’s Market plans to offer more educational activities next year, focusing on the local food web as the movement to grow local foods has evolved over the decades. She extended heartfelt thanks to Joshua Bennett for generously offering the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company as the Winter Market’s venue. “It’s very generous of Josh to provide the space. Stop by the market and have a beer for brunch to support the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company.”
