Jackie Lee Simms Sr., 66, of Hilton Village, WV, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Bridgeport, WV. Born on May 2, 1958, in Clifftop, Jackie lived a life marked by dedication to family, service, and hard work.

Jackie was the son of the late Helen Hicks and John Simms.

A graduate of WVU Tech, Jackie served in the U.S. Air Force before spending many years managing restaurants across the region. He was known for his strong work ethic and his kind, generous nature.

Jackie was preceded in death by his brothers Johnny Simms and Billy Joe Cook, his sister Kay Simms, and his nephew Sammy Burdette.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Simms of Hilton Village, his sister Jean Burdette of Hilton Village, and his two sons, Jackie Simms of Hinton and Travis Simms of Hilton Village.

He was a proud grandfather to Austin and Ayden Simms and Cheyenne Petitt and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

Jackie will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family.

Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. A burial with Military Rites conducted by the US Air Force will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 18, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle.
