The Christmas holidays kick off on Thanksgiving weekend at the Historic Fayette Theater (HFT) with a delightful Christmas play, You Better Watch Out. Performances are Nov. 28, 29 and Dec. 4, 5 and 6 at 8 p.m. with matinees Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Reservations can be made at the box office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.

You Better Watch Out is a heartwarming play about a group of people snowed in together at a country inn and the true spirit of Christmas. At a quaint inn in Wisconsin, innkeepers Jenny and Tom Ryan (played by Shari Davis and Tim Runyon) are joined by Jenny’s father (played by Bob Neil). Julie Brown portrays the inn handyperson. But there are unexpected guests as well. Rudy and Marsha Poznarski (Jack Crosier and Cindy Whitlock) show up at the inn, as well as a stranger, a Mr. Smith portrayed by Dewayne Annis. During the night, the group grows to be a “family,” and one of them regains his lost spirit of Christmas. The play is has several surprising twists and you will be enchanted as you experience the Christmas season along with this diverse group of people stranded together in snowstorm.

The holiday celebrations will continue at the theater on Dec. 13 with the annual holiday concert by the New River Symphony and Chorus. That concert, featuring student musicians and singers from a five county area, begins at 7 p.m. The holiday events at the theater end with a bang as The Wild Rumpus Band celebrates New Year’s Eve with a Family Reunion concert. The Wild Rumpus are Appalachian Stompgrass personified. This concert is special because all past and current members of this eclectic band will join together to ring in the New Year. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31.

For more information about You Better Watch Out or any of the holiday programs offered at the Historic Fayette Theater, call the theater at 304-574-4655 or email info@historicfayettetheater.com. Tickets may be purchased on line at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the box office on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6-8 p.m.
