The Town of Union is gearing up to celebrate the 69th annual Farmer’s Day Celebration on June 7 and 8. Both Friday and Saturday will be jam-packed with things to do, including a street dance, parade, horse show, and the popular Farmer’s Day Raffle with live music.
The street dance will be held in the Jewell’s Market Parking Lot on Friday, Jun. 7, starting at 8 p.m. with music by Brandon Laxton and Tupelo Drive, also featuring Caden Glover. Concessions for the dance will be provided by the Union Area Fire Department.
On Saturday morning, the Farmer’s Day 5K, 10K, and 1 mile fun walk will kick off the day’s festivities at 8 a.m. This year, the proceeds will benefit the Fred Walker Memorial Fund, which distributes scholarships to deserving area seniors. The race begins on Main Street and proceeds to Willow Bend Road to return to the finish line back on Main Street. Registration ends on June 5 and is $30 for the 5K and 10K, and $20 for the 1 mile fun walk. Register online at https://tinyurl.com/2t8txczr.
The parade will be held on Saturday, June 8, starting at 11 a.m. To pre-register before June 3, visit https://bit.ly/24Parade.
