The West Virginia Humanities Council elected four new members to its Board of Directors at its spring board meeting held on Apr. 12 in Beckley. The Council’s Board of Directors is composed of 22 citizens from across the state. The Board meets three times per year. Members are elected to a three-year, term and may be elected to a second consecutive three-year term.
New members are Greg Coble of Shepherdstown, Ann Farr of Frankford, Patrick Felton of Wheeling, and Lydia Warren of Fairmont. Current member Dr. Charles Ledbetter, of Charleston, was elected to a second term.
The Humanities Council thanked departing Board Members Patrick Cassidy of Wheeling, Rosemary Hathaway of Morgantown, Margaret Mary Layne of Huntington, and Patricia Proctor of Huntington for their time and service as dedicated members of the Board.
The Council also elected George “Gib” Brown of Clarksburg as President, Paul Papadopoulos of Hurricane as Vice President, J. Dan McCarthy of Fayetteville as Treasurer and Leslie Baker of Beckley as Secretary to two year terms.
