Greenbrier County Schools Accounting Coordinator Wanda Mitchem was honored as the Greenbrier County Schools Service Personnel of the Year at this week’s Board of Education meeting.
With more than 45 years of caring, compassionate, professional service to the students and staff of GCS, Wanda truly makes a difference. She is often the first person a new employee interacts with when hired. Whether greeting a new employee with a smile, consulting employees on the retirement process, handling death benefits with knowledge and compassion, or lovingly assisting with a child while an employee completes paperwork, Wanda is loved by all who encounter her. She is committed to GCS students, volunteering at various school functions and serving as a mentor to a child through Communities In Schools of Greenbrier County.
