My name is Roger Vannoy. I’m running for the West Virginia House of Delegates 47th district in Greenbrier County and part of Monroe County. I’m a husband, father of two, Marine Corps veteran, Registered Nurse, homeowner and a member of the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee. Our family has called Greenbrier County home since 2015.
I’m running for office because I love West Virginia and I want it to be a place where my children can have a future. As President Kennedy once said, “the sun doesn’t always shine in West Virginia, but the people always do.” Having said that, our state faces real problems that aren’t being addressed by our state government. The cost of living has gone up by 17 percent in the last few years, making life more difficult for working families. College tuition costs continue to climb, bringing long-term debt to those who pursue higher education. Fuel and energy prices rise each year, taking what is left of the working-class paycheck.
West Virginians are faced with these very real problems, yet the state Legislature focuses instead on belittling transgender children, putting guns on college campuses, and taking reproductive health care choices away from women. It’s time for a change in Charleston. If you send me to the West Virginia state Legislature, I’ll work on solutions to the problems we all face, instead of creating new ones. Remember in November and vote for Roger Vannoy for House of Delegates!
