On Dec. 12, the Lewisburg Lions Club held their annual Christmas Dinner and meeting. The club had 31 club members and their guests meeting at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, including two young grandsons. After a very delicious meal catered by Mrs. Lisa Carter and enjoying Christmas songs and carols accompanied by Lion Pam Lewis, the club welcomed a Christmas guest who made a surprise appearance.
With a candy cane for everyone, Santa Claus made sure that everyone was afforded a chance to offer their Christmas wish list. The two grandsons were so excited and couldn’t get enough time with the jolly ole elf. Santa has made many visits throughout our community and everyone that attended our event stated that it was our best Christmas dinner and celebration they’ve ever had. One family had four generations of attendees for our dinner.
The Lewisburg Lions Club has been known for our annual Christmas tree sales. Recently, we have been unable to obtain tress on a wholesale basis. We are still looking, but our main fundraiser now is a golf tournament that will we have on May 4, 2024. The club would like to remind the public that our main goal is to provide eye exams and glasses to those in our community that would otherwise not be able to afford them. We will be looking at new fundraisers in this coming year but if anyone would like to make a financial donation to assist the club with our goals of helping many non-profit organizations in our community, please address your contributions to Lewisburg Lions Club, PO Box 1215, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
