On July 11 the Williamsburg CEOS Club met at the home of Virginia Hanna to celebrate her 100th birthday and her 75th year commitment to her community as a member of the club.
She was 21 years old when she joined the Farm Women’s Club, which then became known as the Extension Homemakers, and now is known as the Community Educational Outreach Club (CEOS).
The club was also recognized in the county for their 1500 hours of community service last year and received an Honorable Mention for their achievements in Purposeful Reading.
Those participating in the celebration were Barbara Deeds, Cassandria Perkins, Blanche Knicely, Laura Rose, Linda Spencer, Shela McComsey, Loretta Shirley, LauraAnn Tiller, Denver Tiller, Patty Post, Burl Post, Laura Sevy, and Juanita Johnston.
There will be a community birthday party to celebrate Virginia’s 100th Birthday on Sunday, July 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mt. Harmon Methodist Church in Renick. All are welcome to come.
