Demolition work continues this week at the True Value site with the tearing down of an adjacent building. However, the City of Lewisburg has confirmed that the original portion of the True Value store will remain standing.
Earlier this year, Angus Peyton of James F.B. Peyton Fund explained that, “Demolition, of course, is just phase 1 of this project. We have in the works some new municipal parking, as well as ten ‘electric vehicle supercharger’ charging stations.” Peyton explained that overall plans for the lot include “something like a public park/parking lot hybrid. It’s definitely going to be the most beautiful parking lot in all of West Virginia when we’re done.”
