Ronceverte – John Evander Ward, II, 38, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1984 in Beckley, the son of Debbie and Ron Ward of Ronceverte, and John E. Ward (Darlene) of Summersville.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Buddy Ray Miller and grandmother, Vera Jane Cogar Miller; uncles, Kenneth Ray Miller and William Darrell Miller; paternal grandmother, Ruth Young; uncle, Douglas Edward Ward; and aunt, Marie Young.
He went to Greenbrier East High School. He played football, basketball and wrestled. He worked as laborer in HVAC systems.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents, Herb Young of Summersville, and Doye and Sharon Ward of Craigsville; daughters, Stacia Fitzgerald and Jaylin Star Ward; his best friend and soulmate, Becky Fitzgerald; sisters, Cristal Walton, Trish Ward, Alyshia (Chris Morring); brothers, Chad Ward (Kristina), Junior Ward, Colton and Devin Ward. Along with all of his nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly and his favorite aunts, Felicia Dabila, Ellen Miller and Vonnie Miller and cousins, Erica, Justin and Christina. Extended family, Linda Raffo, Regina Aragon and Olimpia Sotto.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Wes Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery at Organ Cave, WV.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
