Ronceverte-Kathleen Joyce “Kitty” Shiflett, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born May 21, 1945, at Cabin Creek, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Carpenter Matherly.
Kitty was a retired clerk from Ronceverte City Hall and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, David Clayton Shiflett and a son David Shiflett.
She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Lora Shiflett Price and husband Wallace “Wally” Price of Cool Ridge; son, Scott Shiflett aof Cool Ridge; sister, Norma Herold of Taylorsville, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Smith and husband, Garland of Buxton, NC, Clay Shiflett and Teagan Shiflett, both of Florida, and Chyna Shiflett Pinnell and husband Michael of Alderson; great-grandchildren, Garland Midgett and Tyler Midgett, both of Buxton, NC, Liam Kidd, Ember Pinnell and Harlow Pinnell, all of Alderson.
As per her wishes Kitty will be cremated and no services will be held.
