Visit Washington Street Gallery for an Artist Reception and Show Opening of “Hey Baby … What’s Your Sign” by Local Mixed Media Artist Emily Coleman. This fashion based art show presents her latest creations influenced by the Zodiac. Inspired by women and their signs, each piece is presented on birch plywood using non-conventional elements such as tree bark, gemstones, pressed plants, feathers, tissue paper, crystals, etc., as well as traditional painting and metal leafing. Drop off a 5 or 10 lb. bag of potatoes to help feed the needy and homeless between 3 and 9 p.m. and in turn get a cocktail made with potato vodka for free! The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center will host a “Salute to Rainelle” which will feature a book sale sponsored by the Rainelle Community Development Corporation. Rainelle is the newest addition to Arcadia Publishing’s popular Images in America series and the authors, Joan Browning, Mayor Andy Pendleton and Autumn Shelton will be present to sign copies of the newly released book. Rainelle resident John Wyatt, in collaboration with Strum Sum Band, will provide the musical entertainment for the evening.
