On Oct. 23, Greenbrier East High School hosted the Region 3 cross country meet for the first time since 2007. Both Greenbrier East’s boys and girls teams competed against nine other high schools from the region including Capitol, George Washington, Oak Hill, Princeton, Ripley, Riverside, Shady Spring, South Charleston and Woodrow Wilson high schools.
Both home teams did an outstanding job competing; and the girls took second overall, solidifying a place at states.
The team travels to Cabel Midland High School for the state cross country meet on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The qualifying runners are: Cami Wagner, Raechyl Beard, Makenzy Mandeville, Jaelynn Parks, Marguerite Kemp-Sherman, Savannah Wykle, Molly Reynolds, Lauren Lindsey and Tessa Knightly.
