White Sulphur Springs
-Charles Denver Holley, 95, passed away at his residence Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022.
Born Sept. 29, 1927, at Beach Fork, TN, he is a son of the late Ross P. and Rose Lee Kennedy Holley.
Charles was a member of Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs; was retired from The Greenbrier Resort after 46 years of service, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Louise Shafer Holley in 2006; two sisters, Betty Anderson and Dorothy Vaughn; and a brother, Lawrence Junior Holley.
Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Judy Ward (Milan) of Marshall, MO, Diane Nester (Steve) of White Sulphur Springs and Lisa Armentrout (Cleveland) of Covington, VA; son, Doug Holley (Leah) of Chesterfield, VA; four grandchildren, Jill Leitch of Salem, VA, Justin Nester (Ellie) of Martinsburg, WV, Lindsay Taylor of Chesterfield, VA, and Katie Holley of Nashville, TN; five great-grandchildren, Nick Ferrell of Daleville, VA, Emma, Noah and Ava Nester, all of Martinsburg, WV and Jackson Taylor of Chesterfield, VA; sister, Mary Bittinger of White Sulphur Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Zion’s Light Baptist Church, Ronceverte, with Pastor Mark Shafer and Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the McLean Cemetery, Ronceverte.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
