Joanna Ballengee Taitt
Parkersburg-Joanne Patricia Ballengee Taitt, 82, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 5, 1932, at Clifton Forge, VA, daughter of the late William Henry and Mary Valeta Coulter Ballengee.
Joanne graduated from the Greenbrier College for Women, graduated with an Associates of Arts degree from Greenbrier College and received her BS degree in chemistry from West Virginia University. She retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a Chemist.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, was a member of the Vienna Chapter Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and was a member and past president of the Vienna Garden Club where she garnered many awards in creative and Japanese designs. Her hobbies included music, travel, photography and playing the piano.
Surviving are many cousins and a nephew, Fredrick (Gina Kuhl) Griffith of Elizabeth Pike.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Taitt whom she married on Mar. 8, 2007, and enjoyed the rest of their lives together in wedded bliss.
The funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 13 at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street Parkersburg, where Rev. Kevin Lantz officiated.
Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The visitation was Monday at the funeral home before the service.
