Limited light posts remain for the first Fall Decorating Contest in Union. Businesses and clubs are being challenged to commit to decorating a streetlight in fall decor by Sept. 23. Entries will be assigned a light. Ensure your entries are tasteful and does not impede pedestrian travel. News of the competition earlier this week has resulted in all but six lights being spoken for at this time. You don’t have to have a Main Street storefront to participate. You can incorporate your brand into your design. Those decorating are responsible for the cleanup of their entry on Nov. 4 or earlier if your entry is deteriorating.

In other news, save the date of Nov. 3 for the annual meeting of the Union Chamber of Commerce at Old World Libations. Information on this evening event will be heading to your mailbox soon. Nonmembers are welcome for $25.
