Ronceverte-Ethel Brunty, 94, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born June 12, 1928, in Logan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Obediah and Lenora Belle Mae Williams Kinser.

Following high school, Mrs. Brunty went to work for the US Government Defense Plant in Huntington, WV, during World War II. Ethel, who was known as “Snooks” to all who loved her, moved to Chicago, IL, with her late husband, Ralph Brunty and their children, in 1954.  She was an exceptional homemaker and mother figure to most of her siblings that also moved to Chicago within a few years. After her children were raised, Snooks achieved a distinguished career at Siemens AG, a global corporation. She returned to Greenbrier County following retirement to be near her beloved family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Delane Brunty; and brothers, Sterling, Eugene, James, and Ronald (Mary) Kinser and sisters, Tanya Bowman-Shaw, and Florene (Bob) Wren.

Survivors are two sons, Ralph Brunty (Sherri) of Huntley, IL, and Mike Brunty (Rita) of Ronceverte; daughter, Sherry Lynn Damore (Phillip) of North Ridgeville, OH; sisters, Imogene Holley (Charles) of Ronceverte, and Shirley Dawn Marcum (Robert) of South Charleston; sisters-in-law, Laura Kinser of Bolingbrook, IL, and Diane Kinser of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Michael Brunty (Kristin), Ryan Damore (Jenn Suarez) and Jessica Baker (Bert); great-grandchildren, Molli and Jake Baker, Ashley and Elena Brunty; a dear friend, DeNelda Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 until time of the service. Burial will follow in the McLean Cemetery, Ronceverte.

The family suggests donations of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate.
