HealthNet Aeromedical Services is pleased to announce that the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the American College of Emergency Physicians have selected the program as the recipient of the 2021 Safety in EMS Award.
“HealthNet Aeromedical Services is honored to be nationally recognized for making operational safety of paramount concern,” said Clinton Burley, president and CEO of HealthNet Aeromedical Services. “Our Safety Department professionals work tirelessly to give our team members the resources needed to keep themselves and our patients safe because that is what matters most.”
Sponsored by Horton Emergency Vehicles, the award was established to recognize an organization that has significantly contributed to advancing EMS practitioner and/or patient safety. HealthNet Aeromedical Services has implemented and successfully executed strategies to improve safety in the EMS industry which include establishing an internal safety department, addressing hazards posed by fatigue, and requiring all team members to complete the NAEMT EMS Safety Course.
“We have been able to utilize safety strategies from multiple industries to create an environment where our crew members can transport patients to definitive care in the safest manner possible,” said Jeff White, director of safety for HealthNet Aeromedical Services. “This award certainly will drive us to keep improving our program’s safety measures with hopes of improving the industry as a whole.”
In October, the award will officially be presented to the program during NAEMT’s General Membership Meeting being held at the EMS World Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.
