The White Sulphur Springs Lions Club will soon be selling tickets for their annual Rifle Raffle. They are generally set up in front of Walgreens in White Sulphur (weather permitting) with the rifle. Contact George Gillespie at 304-536-1578 for more information and tickets.
This year’s raffle will begin after Labor Day and will include a second-place drawing for a custom-made gun cabinet. This cabinet was donated to the Lions by Marilyn Leftwich’s family in honor of her passing. Marilyn served with the Lions for many years. Drawing for the rifle and gun cabinet will be the Sunday before deer season begins.
Lions are always busy working in the community. Upcoming events include eye screenings for elementary schools and Adopt-A-Highway. If you are interested in joining them, contact any Lions Club member or President Mary Lee Buckland at 304-536-3259.
The club meets every second and fourth Monday at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Main Street at 7 p.m.
