Customers sample a variety of gourmet nuts available at Osage: The Pecan Company of Lewisburg, located at 204 West Washington Street

Inspired by his grandmother’s pecan company, Britton West decided to open his own gourmet pecan business called Osage: the Pecan Company of Lewisburg, located at 204 West Washington Street.

“Osage is a Native American term and is often used in Missouri where the first shop originated,” West said. “It”s also the name of my grandmother’s pecan company so I decided to keep the name for my own shop.”’

Like many other small businesses in the area, Osage got its start at the Chocolate Festival by selling chocolate and dark chocolate covered pecans, chocolate pecan turtles, chocolate amaretto pecans, and chocolate and dark chocolate covered almonds.

A variety of chocolate covered, regular, roasted, and more gourmet nuts are sold at Osage. And all of the nuts are harvested from West’s grandmother’s pecan farm in Georgia.

In addition to gourmet nuts, Osage sells West Virginia-made jams, jellies, beef jerky, and honey. Various products like syrup, nut flavored gourmet coffee, dried fruit, pretzels, and mixes are also sold there.

“My most popular product is definitely the chocolate amaretto pecans, which at the moment happen to be sold out,” West said. “But we should get a fresh supply very soon.”

All Osage products are available to sample in store before deciding which flavor or variety is your favorite.

Besides food, Osage also carries Christian gifts and coffee mugs. West hopes to also sell West Virginia souvenirs in the near future.

For more information about Osage and their products, call 304-520-4964 or email osageoflewsiburg@gmail.com.
