Greenbrier County Schools will host countywide three countywide registration days for new students (Pre-K through Grade 12) who have not yet enrolled for the 2014-15 school year, including students who have recently moved into the area.

Registration Days will be held at the following times and locations:

• Thursday, July 24 – 5 to 7 p.m. at Greenbrier County Board Office in Lewisburg;

• Monday, July 28 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenbrier West High School in Charmco;

• Tuesday, July 29 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea.

Greenbrier County Health Department staff will be available at the July 28 and 29 events to provide TB tests and immunizations needed if entering West Virginia Schools for the first time.

Parents should bring their child’s immunization records, birth certificate (from the Bureau of Vital Statistics of the state they were born in), Social Security card, and a proof of residency (i.e. utility bill, lease, tax statement or voter registration) to complete registration.

Pre-K registration packets are also available for pick-up at all elementary schools as well as the board of education office in Lewisburg. Completed folders may be returned during any of the registration events or during a scheduled appointment arranged by calling 304-645-3505 or 304-657-6486.  In order to be eligible for a first day of preschool start date (Sept. 2), completed packets must be received by Aug. 18. Students whose packets are received after Aug. 18 will receive a start date as space becomes available.

Please remember that 7th and 12th grade students are required to have Tdap and Meningitis immunizations before they can enter this fall. Parents of new enrollees entering the 7th and 12th grade should bring their updated shot records on registration day.

Please call Nancy Hanna, director of Early Childhood Education, or Lynne Bostic, director of Elementary and Middle School Education, at 304-647-6486 with questions regarding the scheduled registration days.
