Moorhead, MN-Myrtle Reeder, 95, Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN, died there on Monday, June 2, 2014.
Myrtle Boggs was born on July 21, 1918, in Neola, to Ernest and Jacqueline (Ritchie) Boggs. She grew up and attended school there.
Myrtle married Joe Heinze and they made their home in White Sulphur Springs; he later died. Myrtle married Gerald Reeder in Ohio in 1956 and they lived in Tipp City, OH, where she worked as a CNA. He died on Feb. 16, 1982. She moved to Glyndon, MN, and went to work at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN, where she worked until retiring at age 76, and then volunteered there for eight years after retirement. During her time at the Golden Living Center she trained many CNA’s.
Myrtle was a life member of the Daughters of America, and also a life member of May’s Chapel Methodist Church in Neola. She attended the Glyndon Congregational Church during her time in Glyndon.
Myrtle is survived by: daughter, Virginia (Gary Sr.) Bahls, Glyndon, MN; brother, James Edgar Boggs, White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Jeffrey (Connie) Bahls, Entonton, GA, Jason (Susan) Bahls, Dilworth, MN, Tammy Bahls, Fargo, ND, Terry (Bebe) Bahls, Glendale, AZ and Gary Jr. (Beth) Bahls, Arizona City, AZ; many great-grandchildren; many step-children including Helen Ganger, Troy, OH and Tom Reeder, Old Town, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Memorials may be given to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in memory of Myrtle’s great-granddaughter, Marcella Ann Bahls.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
