Dr. Coy Flowers, candidate for the WV House of Delegates, District 42, heads to the final election after last night’s primary win. With 1,864 votes (40 percent), Flowers took the lead over fellow Democrats Courtney Jesser and Richard Dulee. Jesser, with 1,619 votes, will also move on to the final election in November.
Flowers thanked voters, stating, “I am so incredibly proud of this victory. Together, we have worked hard, organizing and campaigning, and it sure did show this evening. All across the 42nd district, voters came out to the polls today to cast their ballots – not just for me – but for what we stand for – a better and brighter tomorrow for all of us in Greenbrier, Monroe and Summers counties.”
Flowers and Jesser will face Republican incumbents Ray Canterbury and George “Boogie” Ambler for the two District 42 Delegate seats in Charleston. The election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Flowers looks ahead to November. In a statement released after the final count was in, he said, “The best way I know to show my gratitude is to wake up tomorrow and work even harder to win again in November. We’ve needed you to get to here, and we’ll need you and others again to win a seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates this November.”
