While we may never know for sure why or how it really started, Lewisburg’s 2021 Shanghai Parade is an annual tradition that will be sorely missed. This week’s undated photo shows the parade many years ago. The sign on the vehicle reads “To Lewisburg By Gosh To The Shanghai.” In the background is the Princess Theatre (now a real estate office) and a barber shop (now Hollowell Dawkins Foundation). Note the brick street.
