Bethlehem Farm, a Catholic nonprofit serving Summers, Greenbrier, and Monroe counties, is launching their Green Neighbors program to provide affordable solar panel installation to households with income at or below the state median of $43,469.
The Green Neighbors program includes an energy audit at the start of the process and an interest-free loan of up to $12,000 for the cost of materials and installation. Solar panels will meet all or part of a household’s electricity demand and reduce monthly power bills. Additionally, solar panels empower a household to care for the environment by using less energy from fossil fuels.
Successful applicants will have an ability to make monthly payments (amount will be based on electricity bill savings) and desire to participate in the process of energy auditing, weatherization, and renewable energy practices and education. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
