Main Street Ronceverte is thrilled to announce we have been selected to receive an AARP Community Challenge grant. We are one of only 184 grantees selected from across all 50 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and only one of two in the state of West Virginia.

With this “quick-action” grant we will be enhancing Community outdoor space which will lead to more community involvement and engagement.  Thanks to AARP Main Street will be able to create a pocket park on two existing lots on Chesnutt Street in lovely downtown Ronceverte.  AARP is providing a shade canopy on a cement pad, two picnic tables and a bench surrounded by two garden beds.

“We are incredibly proud that AARP selected Main Street Ronceverte to receive this grant,” stated Tammy Dotson Rhodes, Executive Director. “AARP is a nationwide leader on making neighborhoods, towns, and cities more livable for all residents and we are honored that they see the tangible value this project will bring to our community.”

Main Street Ronceverte would like to thank and acknowledge Patricia Pagan of the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation for all her work, dedication and assistance in this project.

Should you like more information on our Main Street Program please contact Tammy Rhodes, Executive Director, 206 Main Street West, Ronceverte, 304-661-1361, or Patricia Pagan, GVEDC, 304-497-4300.
