On Saturday, August 8, Sergeant T.C. Webber of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a drug overdose at the Marathon gas station located on US Route 219 north of Lewisburg.
Subsequent to his investigation of the drug overdose, Sergeant Webber encountered two other individuals at the scene. During this encounter and a subsequent vehicle search, Sergeant Webber would ultimately locate illegal drugs as follows:
-a white powdery substance weighing approximately 5.26 grams and fifty-four stamps of heroin. Both substances field tested positive for heroin.
-eighty-eight Suboxone strips.
Additional evidence consistent with the illegal distribution of drugs was also recovered during the search. The total value of the recovered drugs is $7,680.
The individuals, identified as Bobby D. Meadows, 49, and David L. West, 34, were placed under arrest for possession with intent to deliver narcotics and the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance (non-narcotic).
Both individuals were arraigned before a Greenbrier County Magistrate and incarcerated in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
