The Greenbrier County Commission held a special meeting to close out the 2019/2020 fiscal year. In addition to paying the bills, the Commission approved the four final remaining Arts & Recreation grant applicants to submit receipts for their unused allocations before the June 30, 2020 deadline.
The recipients include Greenbrier County 4-H Shotgun for targets – $7,494.65; Quinwood Library – $1,223.61; Greenbrier Historic Society for an exhibit case – $3,205.60; and High Rocks for audio equipment – $1,499.54 for a total of $13,423.40.
The only other business attended to during the Tuesday morning meeting was to approve a new hire for County Assessor Joe Darnell’s office. Pending a review of a background check, Mary Ann Lenherr will be properly vetted for employment. The Commission also approved Frank Masters to take Mary Clay’s long-held seat on the board of Farmland Protection, which completed their assignment of appointments and reappointments to the various Greenbrier County boards for the new fiscal year.
