Lewisburg – Joanna Perkins Levan, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg.
Born June 11, 1935, in Marlinton, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Reeves and Irene Scott Reeves.
Mrs. Levan was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked for many years as a caregiver and sold Mary Kay and Avon. Joanna loved her pets and enjoyed taking Sunday drives. She was helpful, kind and there was never a negative word said about anyone.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her biological mother, Annie Perkins Landis; husband of 34 years, Samuel P. Levan, granddaughter, Brittany Lee Copenhaver; brothers, Burley, James, Jessie and Walter Landis; and sisters, Frances Sager, Margaret Yost, Blanche Landis and Hazel “Penny” Kerns.
Survivors include two daughters, Naomi Ruth Morgan of Clifton Forge, VA and Rachel Leah Levan of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Laura Copenhaver, Andrew Copenhaver (Shyann Sammons), Regina Copenhaver (Aaron White), Megan Copenhaver, Kristen Copenhaver (Adam Loomis), Courtney Copenhaver and Isabella Copenhaver; great-grandchildren, Krayton and Maliyah White; half-sister, Aggie Somers; former sons-in-law, Kris Copenhaver, Jason Copenhaver and Jeff Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, July 5, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
