A June food drive, supplying food banks across Greenbrier County, was a success!
“30 days, 48 pick ups, and 5 food bank deliveries later … and the canned food drive was a great success,” said Jennifer Mason of Feeding Seniors, Saving Businesses. “Thanks to all of you. We had so much help from my son Dana and additional help from volunteers like Emerson, Peggy and Carli who helped sort. We were able to deliver four or five items for every family on each food banks roster (142 Lewisburg, 82 Rainelle, 54 Ronceverte, 40 White Sulphur and 27 Alderson). This means we had over 1,725 items donated to help our neighbors! Way to do it Greenbrier County! We can and we did do this!”
Delivery of fresh produce to the now 382 families served by the food bank will continue for the next few Fridays in July.
“Thanks so much for everything! It all makes a difference!” Mason said.
