Alderson-Rebecca Darlene Sims Hiser, 63, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division in Charleston, WV, following a long illness.
Born June 19, 1956, at Blue Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ross Sims and the late Gladys Marie Hiser Sims.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Chester Lee Hiser; brother, Larry Lee Sims; and infant sister, Betty Jane Sims.
Ms. Hiser was employed as a waitress for many years until her failing health prevented her from being able to do so. She attended Alderson Schools and was a member of the River of Life Church of God in Alderson. Ms. Hiser enjoyed being at home and loved her pets.
Survivors include her loving companion of 36 years, John Anthony Johnson of Alderson; daughter, Lisa Dawn Bowe and husband Steve of Belle; three brothers, Charles Robert “Bobby” Sims of Fort Spring, Curtis Monroe Sims and wife Betty of Alderson, and George Garland Sims and companion Nancy Smith of Alderson; two sisters, Audrey Marie Hall of Ronceverte, and Mary Lou Sims and companion Gary Bragg of Alderson; two grandchildren, Jacob Bowe, and Jessica Bowe both of Belle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 4 at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson where Pastor Anthony Carter officiated. Entombment followed in the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum at Clintonville. Friends called before the service Thursday, June 4 at the funeral home.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
