Shirley Marie Sopko, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
She was born June 8, 1942, in Havre De Grace, Maryland, to the late Carr Henry and Frankie Elizabeth Collins Beavers.
She was a foster parent for many years and fostered over 50 children. She loved to dance, was good at clogging, and enjoyed horseback riding.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pattie Rowe Beavers; a son, James Nooft; sister, Lois Eller; and brother, Clyde Beavers.
Survivors include son, Steven Sopko; sisters, Ida Workman, Jessie Beavers, Henrietta Stoneburner, Connie Beavers, Linda Wiley, and Rita Coldiron (Phil); brother, Michael Beavers; three grandchildren, Jamie, Dean, and Toni; and many nieces and nephews.
