White Sulphur Springs-Frances Faye Propps, 92, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Mar. 23, 2014, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center.
Born Sept. 6, 1921, in Kanawha County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Bertha Simmons Propps.
She was a true Pentecostal believer. During her working years, Mrs. Propps worked at the former Ribbon Factory in White Sulphur Springs, The Greenbrier and the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center. Everyone that knew Frances knew of her love for the Lord and her family. She was a genuine loving mother that moved her family from the coal camps to White Sulphur Springs, where she worked to support the family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by: her husband, Vernon Henry Propps on Feb. 9, 1977; two sons, Charles Dewayne and Vernon Lee; daughter, Marguerite June; sister, Irene Clere; brother, Bobby Simmons; and grandson, Jason Propps.
Survivors include: daughter, Martha Smith of Bulls Gap, TN; daughter-in-law, Geneva Propps of Lewisburg; sons, Glen Propps (Diane) of Covington, VA and Fred Propps of Morrisville, TN; granddaughters who gave a lot of care giving for her, Christina Bostic (Curtis) of White Sulphur Springs and Susan Atkins (Dewayne) of Charleston; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was conducted Thursday, Mar. 27 at the Bethesda Church of Praise, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs where Rev. Charles Feury officiated.
Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Visitation was Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
